The number of single mothers has been on the rise in the U.S. for decades. While many of these women are teens and divorced moms, a growing number are women who have made a conscious decision to have kids on their own. Some say they got tired of waiting for Mr. Right while others simply didn't want to give up on the dream of having a family.
