Staff Writer | The South Florida Sun-Sentinel Fort Lauderdale, FL | April 2005- June 2008 Covered a variety of topics as a city desk reporter, including local government, minority issues, general assignments and breaking news in print, audio and video formats for the newspaper, its website and radio partner, WXEL. Stories included migrant workers who refuse to go to hurricane shelters for fear of deportation and an exclusive hospital interview with one of three homeless men brutally attacked in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Coverage of Hurricane Wilma placed the paper as a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news.
